DiO (Do-it-Ourselves) : Forum ouvert sur les financements alternatifs

Dans le cadre de sa résidence de recherche à Skol, intituléeInfrastructures entrelacées, le collectif Artivistic convie les collectifs multidisciplinaires, les jeunes organismes et les centres d’artistes autogérés à une journée d’ateliers et d’échanges sur les financements alternatifs, le 6 août 2011.

Dans le contexte politique et économique actuel, comment soutenir le travail que nous voulons faire (et faisons déjà) et comment se soutenir mutuellement? Avons-nous des modèles, des propositions? Cette journée, qui prendra la forme d’un forum ouvert, sera une occasion de partager nos préoccupations, mais surtout de (co)construire des pistes de solutions.

Qu’est-ce qu’un forum ouvert? C’est une méthode de co-construction des savoirs et de partage des pratiques. Il débute par la mise-en-place collective de l’agenda, se déroule en plusieurs sessions parallèles et se termine avec l’élaboration d’initiatives issues des discussions.

En clôture, à partir de 19h00 : le party de lancement montréalais du numéro “Performing Politics” de la revue FUSE (Été 2011)! FUSE a 35 ans cette année et les célèbre en revisitant le travail de 17 penseurs et créateurs exceptionnels des trois dernières décennies. À travers huit dossiers, entrevues et chroniques, de même que six projets d’artistes, le numéro s’intéresse aux manières dont la solidarité mène à l’action politique.

DiO (Do-it-Ourselves): OpenSpace on alternative financing

As part of its research residency at Skol, entitled Promiscuous Infrastructures, the Artivistic collective invites multidisciplinary collectives, emerging organisations and artist-run-centres to a day of workshops and exchanges on alternative financing on August 6, 2011.

In the current political and economic context, how do we support the work that we want to do (and already do) and how do we support each other? Do we have models, propositions? This day, which will take the form of an OpenSpace, will be an occasion to share our concerns, but mostly to (collectively) build possible solutions.

What is an OpenSpace? It’s a way of collectively producing knowledge and of sharing practices. All the participants make the agenda together at the beginning, then break into parallel sessions and reconvene at the end in order to come up with practical initiatives based on the discussions.

When: Saturday, 6 August, from 11:00am to 7:00pm

Starting at 7:00pm, the day will close with: the Montreal launch party of FUSE Magazine‘s issue “Performing Politics” (Summer 2011)! FUSE is 35 this year, and we’re celebrating by revisiting the work of seventeen outstanding thinkers and makers, spanning three decades. Through eight features, interviews and reports, plus six artist’s projects and cover art, we explore the ways that solidarity enables political action.
